How do you try to make Konqueror fullscreen? The 'normal' way is by using 
kstart, which won't work because it tries to talk to KWin (the KDE window 
manager) through DCOP IIRC.

What will work is if you setup a view profile. To do this, go to 
Settings->Configure Shortcuts first and assign a shortcut to Settings->Save 
View Profile (or edit the toolbar and edit the action there).

Next, go to full screen mode in Konqueror and save the profile by hitting your 
shortcut.

Now you can start 'konqueror --profile yourProfileName' and it will be 
fullscreen.
