My 2cents: make a diff, from the original kickerrc and from a kickerrc after 
you removed the applet. (see below)
Or maybe its possible to remove the pager program?
To discuss it a bit; why do you want to remove the whole pager thing? I choose 
for two desktops for the users, some are getting used to it and even like it, 
and others just ignore.
I'm sure you are close.:)
