[KDE-India] odd kde-config behavior

Hi,

"kde-config --path config" returns:
/home/ganita/.kde/share/config:/etc/kde3:/usr/kde-profiles/students/share/config

when the current uid is mapped to "students" profile. The global 
path "/etc/kde3" should have been the last one. The path list for data 
and mime do come out correctly:
/home/ganita/.kde/share/apps:/etc/kde-profiles/students/share/apps:/usr/share/apps
/home/ganita/.kde/share/mimelnk:/etc/kde-profiles/students/share/mimelnk:/usr/share/mimelnk

This is in KDE 3.5.5 on SImplyMEPIS 6.0 (Kubuntu 6.06 derivative). Has 
anyone managed to get kde-config to report config paths correctly?
