I agree with you, being able to define individual parameters would be nice
but it's quite more difficult to do. As a first step being able to select a
variation from a list of CSS files is easier for us to implement while still
providing a lot of power to the user (provided that he knows CSS...). At least
it should make it easier for web designers to provide nice themes, because I
believe most of them know CSS, but not XSLT.
