Angelo,
I am not used to update kernel and drives outside from Mandriva Linux Control Center -> Sofware Management -> Update Option
In fact, It should not be necessary to look for other packges out from MLCC -> Update Optinon to keep me Updated.
It seems that paying for being a Mandriva Club Member does not worth while.
I upgraded the system based on what you asked.
On the first moment I tried digiKam, and the computer rebooted again.
After I rebooted, I saw that I should choose the new kernel, And I saw the system compiling new nvidia driver.
Since that it is working well.
Thank you very much for the help!!!
Sincerely,
Ricardo Kerry

Ok I can test it (not now but I'll do) my hw is similar
and I have mandriva 2006 installed :).
One thing though, can the reporter try again the test
with a recent kernel (mandriva official update is 2.6.12-18)
and a recent nvidia driver. You can download the related packages
from plf (have a look at easyurpmi.zarb.org)
libnvidia-xorg1-8756-0.1.20060plf
libnvidia-xorg1-devel-8756-0.1.20060plf
dkms-nvidia-8756-0.1.20060plf
nvidia-xorg-8756-0.1.20060plf
and add a comment for it? Thanks
Angelo
