Hello list,

I really like your kipi-plugins. More so, that it even works on an
alpha! I watched my mother-in-law using the printwizard and I tried to
take this user's experience into the program... In fact, the following
things are not optimal, IMHO:

- There are two windows too much in the printwizard. Why explain what'll
happen? Why spend a whole window with a text "press <next> to print"?
- There should be a possiblity to adjust for image-brightness

Well, it's open-source. So I went and removed the first and the last
page from the wizard. Then I implemented a gamma-bar per image. Now you
can adjust the brightness for each image while cropping. While hacking
on these things, I found the following issues:

- frmprintwizard.cpp is a bit too crowded, IMO. So I went and made a
page.cpp that holds the information about pages and is capable of
rendering them
- The whole caching of images was done very poorly. Now there is a
multi-cache, loading the whole image only once, then scaling it only
once and finally adjusting only on changes from the "gamma"

So now there is a changed printwizard. Because I did so much changes, I
uploaded the whole directory to

http://www.linusetviviane.ch/files/printwizard.tgz

Please give it a try and tell me whether this is useful... If you have
any questions, I'm subscribed to the list.

Greetings,

ineiti
