Hi.
We are translating a computer GUI with thousands of words and terms from very
different fields of computer industry. As far as everyone know in the list,
there is no complete and usefull English-Farsi computer dictionary available.
So I was thinking that why not build such a thing ourself. Many translated
books in the humanity science and other fields have a Glossary at the end that
the translator have put the Persian translation of the terms used in that
book there. We can do the same. We can put this glossary in the KDE-fa
package and also in the linuxiran download section so the others can see and
comment on them. And also we can send this Glossary to institutions like HCI
and Farhangestan Zaban.
I usually write the words that I think are important in my translation on a
piece of paper. I will send some of them now in this email. If other
translators do the same we can build such a thing very easily. I can take the
responsibility for this if others do not have time or have more important
things to do.
Here are some the words:
Slider
Graph
execution
synthesis
submission
annotate
track
entry
playlist
upload
download
match
loop
driver
tray
system tray
icon
mixer
applet
panel
credit
switch
port (v.)
port (n.)
timestamp
header
dotlock
subscribed folder
inbox
outbox
adopter
notification
account
privileged
cache (n.) and (v.)
thread (n.) and (v.)
and...
These words are mostly from the kmail.po and kmix.po files. And I did not put
the Farsi equivalent for them.
What do you think about that?
Best regards
platoali
