[Kde-i18n-fa] Translation policy

Hi,

With regard to recent discussions on the list and difficulties that we face 
while searching for words, I would like to refer you all to the internal 
discussions that we had during the first run of translations, i.e. KDE 3.1.

Then we decided that we prefer to use translations and words that you can look 
up in a dictionary. The reason is simple and understandable!

Very many times we face English words that don't have a Farsi counterpart 
which is in widespread usage, such as: "bookmark", "compile", even "inbox" 
and the like...
In these cases, the decision was, that we will use Farsi words as much as 
possible. This is not in opposition to Arabic words. We avoid translating 
"compile" to "compile" with the difference that it is written with the Farsi 
alphabet. We use translations that are given in the dictionaries. That way we 
can at least ensure that people can look it up and find its meaning. 
As an example "ham gardaani" was choosen for "compile". It is a strange word, 
but at least you can look it up and you wont confuse it with something else, 
which would be the case if we choose "tarjomeh".
And with reference to the recent discussions, I personally like "yaad newesht" 
much more than "choob alef", but AFAIK you can look up "choob alef" but not 
"yaad newesht".
This has been our method, as far as it was possible.
