Audex 27.04 - Upcoming major update and early translation availability

Hi everyone,


I am Marco, the author of Audex. I'm currently preparing a major update of 
Audex, KDE's audio CD ripping application, for KDE Gear 27.04. The release 
will also mark Audex's 20th anniversary.

The new code is already available in the Audex repository on invent.kde.org in 
the work/marcon/newengine branch and introduces several hundred additional 
translatable strings:

I'm planning to merge the new version into master mid-January. From now on I 
intend to focus on bug fixes and stabilization until the release with as few 
strings changes as possible.
Since I realize that translating several hundred new strings into many 
languages takes a lot of time, I'd like to give the translation teams an early 
heads up.

Furthermore I have a question: 
I'd like to make the new strings available for translation before the merge. 
Is there a way to do this? Or is that even necessary, given that we have time 
between January and March?

One technical detail: The new engine uses Qt translation contexts internally, 
but these are bridged to KDEs existing audex gettext domain. So no separate 
translation catalog should be necessary, I suppose.
