Question about doc generation from git

Hi,

in the svn environment, we use "update_xml" [1] to generate docs from 
docmessages.

Problem is "update_xml" only works with old svn directory structure and 
it uses svn commands.

Is there any "update_xml" adapted to new git directory structure with 
git commands?
