We never had a translation to Australian, maybe it was somehow using the GB 
one.

What you are describing seems really outside the scope of this mailing list  
(translations) and seems more of a Plasma bug (supporting locales).

I would recommend filing a bug in bugs.kde.org or if you have development 
skills try asking for guidance in
