Request for Guidance on Reviving KDE Sinhala Localization Team

Dear Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am reaching out regarding the KDE Sinhala localization team, as I am
interested in contributing to and potentially reviving the effort. However,
I have encountered several challenges in trying to get involved.

1. Inaccessible Team Page & Matrix Registration – The Sinhala localization
page on KDE’s website appears outdated, and I was unable to find any recent
activity from the team. Additionally, I attempted to join the KDE Matrix
server for localization but found that registration is disabled.

2. Mailing List Issues – I tried to reach out via the mailing list (
kde-l10n-si at kde.org), but my request has not been approved, and I have not
received any response.

3. Lack of an Active Coordinator – It seems that there is no active
coordinator for Sinhala translations. Given this, I would like to know if I
can take responsibility for reviving the team and ensuring KDE software is
well-translated into Sinhala.

I would appreciate any guidance on the next steps I should take. Should I
formally request to become the coordinator for Sinhala translations? Are
there specific KDE policies or processes I need to follow to restart the
team?

Looking forward to your advice.

Best regards,
Malaka Tharumuthu
