@Alexander, what you say is correct. And the comment about the target group in my initial description was actually a little made-up by myself when I reasoned to myself about the "Du"s in the german texts Dennis had passed to me, where I reflected about the people I had met so far who might be interested in Marble Maps over the more powerful but proprietary and personal data-collecting apps coming with their operating systems. Who across all ages/ranks were using Du when talking to each other in this group. But that might not be representative indeed.

Still, a more important reasoning was said above, but only in German:
Marble Maps and Dolphin will not be used next to each other. Marble Maps (which is a different app from the Marble app you know on the desktop) is currently designed for Android only. And to integrate properly on that platform, it makes sense also IMO to not only use native theming in widget look, color, etc, but also in UI text style.
So the consistency in texts you ask for (a request I support in general, consistency rules) would be consistency with the average style on the platform, and that platform for now is Android (whatever that style is there, no clue myself). (What I said in the text about the target

Too bad we have a manpower problem, otherwise you would see me proposing de_DE at AndroidGeduzt, de_DE at AndroidGesiezt, de_DE at Plasma etc ;)

Hm, how do Siri, Cortana & Google Now address the user in German? Don't they use first name and Du? Or is that even configurable? Perhaps that could be taken as decision reference on those platforms, given we have different opinions here so far.

Hm, next step after vector-based stylable icon-pixmap rendering: "intention-description"-based stylable text-letters setting, to create text matching the wanted obeisance the device should have to it's user/owner/master. Where are the grammar engines?!! ;)

On a more serious note, another escape from this seemingly opionated issue would be to avoid addressing the user at all. Looking at the given texts that should be doable. Though then addressing the user might have been done on purpose, for certain psychological effects? @Dennis?
