I prefer to keep master always stable and just tag from it.

Thinking a little bit more about this, these are the two things I think we are 
missing to release:

-Remember added modes and restore them
-Pick XRandR1.1 when only 1.1 is available (and test it)

What do you think?

Maybe we can make a release this week so distributions will pick newer code, 
so bug triaging will be easier.
