Hah, I was about to forget,

has been sitting there forever and fixes a bug which involves possible data loss, 
please have a look at it and decide if this hack is acceptable. The available 
answers provided by the lovely udisks people are "Yes, this hack is acceptable"
and "Yes, this hack is horrible, but there's no other way around it, so it's acceptable"
