As far as I know the way it is implemented is by creating a classic label on 
the left, then a check box with no text on the right, so it should not mess 
with right-to-left scripts.

Agreed. Actually I think this is what the Form_Label_Alignment page [1] is 
trying to say. We can drop the "Problems with Qt 4" section in this page: 
having to use a separate label on the left for check boxes is similar to the 
way one uses a separate label for combo boxes or line edits and replace it 
with the layout suggestions I proposed and which Thomas suggested to add to 
this page.
