I posted an acerbic comment on the dot stating that I wondered if the
developers working on the KDE HIG had given up and gone into hiding.
But seriously, if anyone is listening. Things are now starting to
mature and the usability problems are starting to show up.
So, I think that usability issues were brought up too soon. But, now we
really need a completed HIG and after 4.1 is released, anything that
does not conform to it should be reported as a bug.
I do not claim to be a usability expert. I have read a little on the
subject and it seems to be clear to me that I know more about it than
some developers do. So, I don't know if I can be of any help, or how to
help.
I do know one thing, if we are going to make HIG conformance reports,
that this needs to be a joint effort and then the final approved report
needs to be delivered to the developer by the HIG group, not by an
individual. I say this because I tried this with KDE3, even had
patches, and my efforts were not appreciated.
I am willing to work on checking for conformance to the HIG guidelines.
Is there anything else that a not expert can do?
