I am not quite sure about that. At least I don't really like these tools,
because they IMHO have a strange GUI and insist of re-implementing their
own imaging frameworks.
The application I look for used straight QImage only, but still the
imaging algorithms as the above applications.
If an KDE application implements their own image (buffer) equivalen, it is
essentially of no use for me, because as user and developer I ould like to
use QImages only.

As for the KIPI plugin, I will have to checkout these after I got a more
or less stable release.
