It's not so much a matter of "noone else besides Ian" and "caring",
but making a rational decision based on the issues and the evidence,
which I have tried to explain…
The problems with KShisen appeared once more only a week or two
ago. See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339865, especially
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339865#c2. However the user
had a KDE 4.8.5 version of KShisen (based on Phonon), whereas
KShisen switched to KgSound (OpenAL highly recommended) in
KDE 4.9, released August 2012.

OK, I will make the change in KDE 4.14 in time for the KDE 4.14.3 release.
Anuj, please will you make the necessary changes for KF5. I am unable
to do that because I cannot (yet) get and test KF5 on my Apple machine.
You may also need to raise a ticket with KDE Sysadmin to ensure that
OpenAL and libsndfile are available in KF5 on Jenkins, etc.
All the best, Ian W.
