No idea what pygame is, so can't really answer.

Well, i guess there are a few questions you need to answer, do you want to try 
to salvage any or the old code or just start from scratch? The old code is 
probably stashed away in the unmantained tags in svn, if you want to start 
from scratch i'd do some c&p from any kdegame you think may be similar in 
structure to what you want to program to get you bootstrapped quickly.
