True, the download can always only be one file (per language). KNewStuff2 has 
deletion listed in its feature plan. It is trivial for files which stay one 
file, but not implemented yet for files which are unpacked. However, the plan 
is to keep track of the unpacked files and delete all of them.

I think the Plasma guys currently look into defining standard extension 
package formats. Plasmoids (or how they're called) and game themes are 
related, both can contain graphics, sound, scripts, data files and so on.
