And if it gets you hooked into KDE programming, that'll be even better. ;)

I tend to agree that for the intended purposes an installer/importer
application (for kdeaddons?) makes most sense. Whether it uses KIO itself
shouldn't even matter, although it'd be a valid use of the KIO
framework.
