One of the planned features for Atlantik in 3.2 will be an easy way to
invite people to play a game over e-mail/IM from within the application.
There are more networked KDE games that might benefit from such an approach.
One of the options is to use the KGGZ lounge framework, although I am not
sure if that completely fits into the KDE look and feel. And a GGZ
dependency for kdegames might not be desired.
The other option is to write this from scratch and possibly make it an
extension of KGame or at least something for libkdegames.
For the invitations, I'd opt for something transparent as a desktop
.attachement to an e-mail or IM message which could launch a
specific application with server/game parameters. This should also work on
LANs and non-Internet connected areas.
Anyone with me? (I know Niko should be, he opted for something like this
before.. and me trying to make Atlantik plug in to KGame more should please
Neil as well). Ah, if only Kolf had network play.. :)
