On a different computer with 14.2-RELEASE-p2: 

- clicking Defaults selects Breeze. 

On the bugged computer: 

- if qt6ct-style is applied before a clean quit of System Settings, 
  then the next click on Defaults (after selecting a different style) 
  selects qt6ct-style

- if Oxygen is applied before a clean quit, then the next click on 
  Defaults selects Oxygen …
