Hmm, it's a bit hard for me to check as I'm not using KDE from ports.

Does it only happen to Konsole, or does any other KDE program also
refuse to launch?

Perhaps running gdb (depending on the program, passing --no-fork or
--nofork to it might be necessary) shows at least where it is crashing.

P.S.: Is everything OK with your mail client? It always quotes things in
a weird way and makes it a bit hard to read your messages.
