I gave this a quick try during KDE 4.2 and after noticing ~1G RES memory 
decided not to touch it again till someone reports he's thrilled with this 
app. Also, one actually needs to dive into the various festival related ports 
to figure out what's needed, while this may seem logical to people "into text 
to speech", I would rather expect people to want to "enable it and have it 
working" especially since the knotify integration.
In my case, I wanted Konversation to read me a new message in mostly idle 
chatrooms and then ended up installing/configuring for at least an hour only 
to not have it working at all.
