Next week Qt 4.4.0 will be released. Actually it was released yesterday 
for commercial licensees, so next week will be the open source release. 
So you might as well skip the RC1 release.

I haven't yet had a chance to build it on FreeBSD, so I don't know yet 
if there are any basic problems.
