	Right. I have portupgrade current (hopefully:).   Late last night 
	I began rebuilding kde3; I know it is a metaport. I  looked at
	the  scripts/* but didn't understand how everything worked but
	tHings were rbuilding when I went to bed.   Now I find yet
	another ".lo is not a valid libtool object."  :-(    So I'll
	force a clean rebuild.  I cvsup'd ports so should have everything
	current as of 27july07.

	See what happens.
