IIRC, kmainwindow is in kdelibs3, so that port presumably had a problem.

x11/kde3 is just a metaport - "rebuilding" it will not achieve very much
at all. If you want to forcibly rebuild all of KDE, use something like:

portupgrade -f arts\* kde\*

Portupgrade is available via the sysutils/portupgrade port.
