A very simple collection of tests, but it's more tests than we had before. However this would not have caught the bug that prompted this since it would require running different processes consecutively to reproduce. But it's at least a base from which to proceed (hopefully with more patches).

The new tests pass (and are supposed to pass), involving combinations of logically different tests in some cases (in other words I don't think I accidentally coded the test to always pass).
