I will look into the split this week (sorry for not having time
earlier), but I wouldn't put that as a primary goal (although for
Framework's first release I'd love to have this settled). Also,
supposing every system is supporting XSync by the time frameworks is
out, we might even consider dropping the XScreensaver backend. Also, I
am not really knowledgeable about X11 myself, and the code I put there
was the result of several Q&A sessions with more knowledgeable people,
so help welcome.
