let's write a book?

Hi,

I proposed this 3-4 years ago, back when KDE 4 was still new (!!!). IIRC I
discussed this with annma and someone else, but I cannot remember who. Some
Indian guy (pretty much unknown in KDE) said he was going to write a book
but he never did. I do have an outline of what I'd like to see in a KDE
Development book, I'll try to find it.

IMHO:
- The book should be oriented towards developers with some Qt experience.
Starting from scratch does not make sense to me.
- It should explain the architecture of kdelibs, kdepimlibs, calligralibs,
etc and the advantages and feature additions over Qt5. With Qt getting more
and more features, kdelibs, etc look less and less compelling (at least at
first sight) for people targeting non-Linux platforms.
- It should include build system information, which is especially important
on Windows
- We should not try to make a profit but we should offer a printed version
in addition to e-book. Prentice Hall's Bruce Perens collection looks good
to me.
- Examples need to be real-world, i. e. much more complex than the ones
we've got at TechBase
- We probably need to wait a bit before the actual writing can start (still
too much uncertainty in Qt5/KF5), but it's a good moment to plan
