The same with Kopete. There is just another protocol to talk to the
running Skype. You need that one. And they use 2 - dbus, which they have
terribly outdated, and X11 messages that did not exist in the time the
thing was written and nobody ported the plugin to it yet.

If you want, feel free to port it…
