Hi Helio,
Not sure what you mean with package. A tarball or?
At least Debian and Kubuntu will never use a extragear-whatever tarball
to create packages for their distributions.
Debian and Kubuntu update pkgs when a new release for an app comes out
(and pkg maintainers have free time ;) Using a extragear-whatever
tarball to create pkgs would duplicate work and conflict with already
existing pkgs in the distro archives.
