Dear lovers of openness and friends of creative critique,

The openeverything team cordially invites you to join us at
atoms&bits, a Berlin festival for making, thinking, and doing. We'll
explore how open principles bridge technical and creative fields --
and how these ideas shape the atoms & bits that make up our lives.

atoms&bits has two parts:
a week long festival
a two-day camp

*.*.*.*.*.*
a&b camp
*.*.*.*.*.*

At the a&b camp, we're bringing together a heap of interesting people
to come and play by the Barcamp rules. That means the program hasn't
set yet. Instead, the discussions be steered on location by
participants -- by you! Sessions can be held on any topic that relates
to openness, from software to spleens, from genes to geodata.

Ideas include:

Open Design
Open Hardware and Arduino
Open Music
Open Fashion
Open Medicine
Open Video
Open Education
Open Government
and of course more

Cross pollination is encouraged. During the two-day camp, everyone
will mix with parallel tracks on (1) new forms of work (Coworking),
(2) DIY culture, (3) participatory politics, (4) the production of
art.

Attendance is for the free, but registration required. If you'd like
to take part, keep an eye on http://atomsandbits.mixxt.de/ on
Thursday, Sept. 2.

The a&b Festival is a decentralized event that stretches over 10 days
(September 18-27th). Throughout the festival, you can visit partner
events like all2gethernow, Coworking Breakout, and Transmediale. Other
activities in Berlin include: an Arduino workshop, a public reading of
Cory Doctorow's Makers, screening of RIP! A Remix Manifesto, and an
election party.

Attendance is free for most festival events, but please note the
registration details of each separately.
