  Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the thread you're pointing to is really talking about the problem that's being fixed in this PR.
  I bet that if that person selected "auto star" his issues would be fixed, and/or if we removed the "if(guiderType == GUIDE_PHD2)" in this change.
