Thanks, Anne-Marie.  Sorry for the delay in answering.

It seems a lot simpler than I had hoped.  What I wanted to do was define 
the declension of nouns with just the endings and then reference it from 
a main list of words by marking the word as being in a particular 
declension and similarly with the verbs.  Then I'd only have to decline 
(and conjugate) irregular forms.

Ah well.  :)
