[kde-edu]: kstars, generating sky before 1753

Hi!

Why won't kstars allow me to use dates prior to 1753? I know this is 
when the modern calendar was adopted in the anglosaxonic world, but 
inputing ancient dates might be useful if you know what you are doing... 
so I think it should be allowed. Why not?

Is there any way to do so (short of altering the source, of course) ?
