Hi!

Sorry for having taken a bit long.
Thanks a lot for your contribution. I committed the file and saved all other 
layouts as utf8 ad added utf8 support in the code.
It seems OK but I would be be glad for anyone to update cvs HEAD and try to 
view all layouts and report back if they are OK or not.
(George as you hang around you could test it please)
