That's one reason why I wanted to check that the user has activated 
layouts in the Control Center. A user who has done so probably knows 
more what s/he is doing.

Theoretically KWordQuiz could be using two layouts different from the 
global, and if implemented in KVocTrain any number of layouts could come 
into play, since that program allows for more than two columns/translations.

If I recall correctly kxkb allows for global and per program switching, 
so it's already quite possible to get confused when moving between 
windows belonging to different programs.
