Yes, I understand, that's why I was ranting :)
The situation with those module specific base libs really sucks.
IIRC you are the Kig developer and you were considering to create a koffi=
ce=20
usable part, but you had to abandom the idea because this would create a=20
dependency on libkoffice for the whole (!) KDE edu package.
I think I will rant about this on kde-devel, because this problem will be=
=20
getting worse and worse when KDE's packages get bigger.
(There is in almost regular intervals a discussion on kde-games-devel on =
how=20
to decrease package size and if two similar games can be included, etc)

Then you know what I am talking about.
I was a SuSE user for year and I did _not_ switch because of the packagin=
g,=20
but I am pretty sure that will make me stay with Debian unless the other=20
distros spend some time on thinking about proper packages :->
