[kde-doc-english] How to translate 1 phrase odf file?

1st I created an latin.odt file, attached, containing only:

  carpe diem

Then started localize, and created a new probject in the same
directory. The interface provides no obvious next step. The
KDE help center in 'Chapter 1. Introduction' says:

Translation files are opened in separate tab, with two big
multi-line edits as well as a bunch of toolviews.

but gives no hint about *how* to open those translation
files. At this point, the UI has looks like the attached
localize-initproj.png. None of the tool bar names:

  File Go Project Tools Settings

hint at any relation to 'Translation files'. Even the contents
of thos tool bar names don't suggest any relation to
'Translation files':

  File:
    Open
    Open recent
    Update file from template
  Go:
    Previous not ready
    ...
    Next translation only
  ...

What do I do next to translate 'latin.odt to 'english.odt?

TIA.
