Hallo!

(1) Ich hatte schon vor einiger Zeit eine Anfrage bezüglich KDE +
X-Server geschickt, hatte aber Probleme mit meiner
E-Mail-Adresse und daher keine Antworten empfangen.
Beim Booten muss ich mich auf der Konsole anmelden und dann KDE bzw. den
X-Server mit "startx" starten.
Gebe ich KDE ein, erscheint:

xsetroot:  unable to open display ''
xset:  unable to open display ""
xset:  unable to open display ""
xset:  unable to open display ""
ksplash: cannot connect to X server
kdeinit: Aborting. $DISPLAY is not set.

Ich hattre auch schon versucht $DISPLAY mit "export DISPLAY=:0.0" zu
setzen, hat aber auch nicht funktioniert.

(2) Ein Fax z. B. von KWord aus per KDEprintFax zu senden, funktioniert
zunächst ganz gut: es wird gewählt und
eine Weile Daten übertragen, dann aber bricht KDEprintFax ab.
