In the meantime I'm coming to the conclusion, that this is a bug in the linker 
(I have recognized some ld-related problems in the binutils mailing list) and 
I have not working solution yet. It may help to use an older ld for example 
from http://kde-cygwin.sf.net/snapshots. 
If this helps please let me know. 

BTW: Why are you using the slow cygwin port, when you can get a must faster qt 
using borland or mingw or msvc toolchain ?
