Problem launching/installing KDE

Hi,

I suppose problem was already solved. Excuse my stupidity but I have
been using (and still using at home) KDE or blackbox for years with
SuSE-Linux. I am no specialist of the Windows environment.

At work I just wish to be able to use Quanta on a W2000 platform but
the KDE librairies are needed.

I installed Cygwin with setup.exe. It works.

For KDE, after a lot of searching, I installed KDE-3.1.4 according to:

http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=202421

1) qt-3.2.2-3-3.2.3-3-gcc3  OK librairies installed
2) kdelibs-3.1.4-3-gcc3  OK librairies installed
3) kdebase-3.1.4-1-gcc3 OK librairies installed

I type now

startx -multiwindow &

For moment it goes OK. A window is opened. Launcher appears, I can
read "KDE is up and running" and ... everything disappears but
Cygwin/X stays running on display: 0.

What should I do to test KDE? Is there a error.log script I can consult
and send for analysis.

Any suggestion please or a detailed web-page for the installation of
KDE-Cygwin with analysis of errors found?
