KDE Problem: KDE Not Launching.

I have installed KDE2 for cygwin on my win2000 desktop and laptop
it runs fine on my laptop, but kdeinit hangs on my desktop after=20
ksplash, init InterProcess Comms
DCOP: register 'anaonymous-2180' -> number of clients is now 1
if I kill -9 the last kdeinit that was exec'ed it continues but I get =
either a DCOP communication
error, or DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Could not open =
network socker, or some other error, I can get kwin to run and/or =
kcontrol if I launch from xterm but they have problems and all
emit kio (KSycoca): findFactory: we have no database.... launching =
kdeinit
it seems to want to build ksycoca every time. I have search every web =
site, news group
and alot of people seem to have the same problem,=20
please please help, I am desparate to get our company to start using =
some of this fabulous software
