well, there is still work to be done.

you have the possibilits to take the qt3-win32 checkout and replace the 
*_win.* files by the original ones from qt, and then you can start to 
eliminate the x-dependant stuff from kde. this still uses cygwin as the 
underlying layer.

then there is another approach at http://iidea.pl/~js/qkw/ . this guy wants to 
get kde running natively on windows without cygwin. this is also work in 
progress.

for both projects any help is appreciated...
