retry later. This is a problem of the sourceforge cvs server.

  G’day all,

That seemed to fix a bit of the problem 8-).

  I’m now getting the following:

Cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Socket operation on non-socket

  Any ideas??

  Thanks again in advance,

  Dave

  Hi,

  I have two notes:

  1. the cvs command should look like cvs login and not cvs -d login

  2. The problem you have reported could have several reasons:

  a. caused by a problem of the sourcforge cvs server. Please try later
again or write a bug report to the main sourceforge crew.

  b. if you sit behind a firewall and the cvs port isn't open, than you will
get this message. In this case you should contact your firewal admin.

  Cheers

   Ralf

  G’day all,

I’m new to the list, so please forgive me if I’m asking something that is
in a FAQ, but I can’t seem to find answers anywhere, so I’m hoping you guys
might be able to help 8-)

I’ve installed qt3 on my cygwin system, and have been following the steps
outlined at

  http://kde-cygwin.sourceforge.net/qt3/compiling.php

but when I get to this stage

  1.checkout qt 3 sources

2. export
CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous at cvs.kde-cygwin.sf.net:/cvsroot/kde-cygwin
3. cvs -d login
Just press "Enter" if there is a question about a password

cvs co -r QT_CYGWIN_3_1_BRANCH qt-3

after entering nothing for the password, I get

“cvs [login aborted]: connect to cvs.kde-cygwin.sf.net(66.35.250.207):2401
failed: Connection refused.”

What am I doing wrong?? I’m following the steps, but can’t get very far,
and would really love to start compiling some programs soon.

Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered,

  Dave
