    The point of the exists() call in this particular instance, was to avoid creating the singleton just to clear it.
    
    With the Qt4/Qt-5.0 Q_GLOBAL_STATIC, I don't think there's API for that. But it's part of the planned-for-Qt-5.1 merge request from Thiago, so I suggest adding a ### Qt-5.1 TODO: .exists()
    
    Or even better, so we don't forget,
    #if QT_VERSION >= QT_VERSION_CHECK(5,1,0)
    if (s_serviceTypeProfiles.exists())
    #else
    ...
    #endif
