The case for a kdelibs 4.8

I sincerely think you are being unfair here. The stuff you needed was merged 
in, and probably was more invasive than those features. You justify yourself 
in that "it was developed before we knew 4.8 was not going to be there". I'd 
say that can easily qualify for Kevin too.
